What is the BOB App, and what does BOB stand for?

BOB stands for Bleeding on Brushing. The BOB App is a professional monitoring and motivational tool developed by Curaden AG (the company behind CURAPROX) that helps dental professionals implement an individualised oral health strategy for each patient. Using CURAPROX interdental brushes chairside, the practitioner records which spaces bleed and maps the correct brush size for each gap. The app generates a colour-coded mouth map, an inflammation score, and a progress chart — all printable or emailable to the patient. BOB is designed exclusively for dental practices — dentists, hygienists, and therapists.

How do I sign up for the BOB App?

To get started, complete the sign-up form on our website. You'll need to provide your practice name, address, a general practice email, and details for each BOB user. Once approved, login details are sent to your practice email and a Curaden team member will schedule mandatory onboarding training.general practice email address Please check your spam or junk folder if you don't see the confirmation email.

Yes — training is mandatory. After registration is approved, a Curaden team member will contact you to schedule onboarding. Training can take place online or in person and covers the BOB scoring workflow, implementation methods, and how to use CURAPROX brushes and IAP probes correctly alongside the app.

Does the BOB App only work with CURAPROX brushes?

Yes. The BOB App is exclusively designed around the CURAPROX CPS interdental brush system. The IAP probe colour-coding corresponds directly to a specific CPS brush size, and the app's mouth map, size recommendations, and patient reports are all built on this system. The four CPS lines cover all clinical situations: CPS Prime (healthy closed spaces), CPS Perio (open/exposed spaces), CPS Soft Implant (implants and large spaces), and CPS Ortho (braces).

Is the BOB App free to use?

In general, the BOB App is free. Depending on the country your practice operates in, a starter fee may apply — which typically includes BOB App training and a starter set of CURAPROX CPS interdental brushes. For exact pricing in your country, contact support@bobscore.com.
